USB is an experienced youth organization and has organized several projects related to the topic and form of the WE ARE HER project. For example, its G.P.S. Project (Gender Position System), funded by the Council of Europe, aimed to support and empower women in all the aspects of their lives and to break the stereotypes related to gender. More than that, it has taken part in the “One Billion Rising” – the biggest mass action/campaign to end violence against women in human history where it represented Greece. In this connection, USB also organized meetings with all organizations in Greece that deal with gender-based violence. During 2011, Apart from this, USB always tries to foster gender equality and to diminish the gender participation gap in the international and local youth projects.
